This photo was taken on 3 August 2012, just one month after Eastwood Aquarium opened.
That was our very first Eastwood Aquarium sign. Sam and I made it ourselves using wooden letters from IKEA. Looking back, it's funny—we never imagined we'd end up building our entire life around those little wooden letters.

When we started the shop, we knew it wasn't going to be a fairy tale. We just had no idea where the journey would take us.

Fourteen years later, I still don't know if there's such a thing as a "happily ever after" for an LFS owner.

There isn't a fairy tale ending. There's just another shipment to unpack, another water change to do, another customer to help, and another early morning at the airport.

But every now and then, I pause for a moment, look around the shop, and realise I am surrounded by beautiful reefs, passionate people, and friendships that have grown through this hobby.

Maybe that's what a happily ever after really looks like. 🪸❤️This photo was taken on 3 August 2012, just one month after Eastwood Aquarium opened. That was our very first Eastwood Aquarium sign. We even had a fresh shipment arrive on a Sunday afternoon!

Apart from all the amazing fish and corals that landed this week, it was also great to catch up with a few fellow LFS owners in the shop. We all do things a little differently, but we share the same passion, the same challenges, and the same goal—to keep this hobby growing. It's always refreshing to swap ideas, share experiences, and have a laugh with people who truly understand what goes on behind the scenes.

And to top it all off... today's shipment is absolutely epic. 👀🔥 We can't wait to show you what's landed.

Some said the work is too hard and they'd do something else. But me? I'd choose this life every single time... just because of moments like this. ❤️🪸There was a discussion recently about whether, if we had the chance to choose again, we'd still become LFS owners. A quick stroll past the coral systems, and these Gonioporas were demanding their turn in front of the lens. Looking absolutely stunning today! 🪸✨Since the camera was already out, it was impossible to stop at just the SPS frags. Sometimes it's nice to pause and simply appreciate the little underwater world we've built. 🌊🪸Before we knew it, it was Sunday afternoon.
